Job Opportunity: Community Development Fiscal Assistant

Primary responsibilities of the candidates include (but not limited to):

  • – Assisting with the preparation and assembly of federal/state grant applications and mapping
  • – General accounting duties
  • – Review of project invoices with oversight from Program Director
  • – Facilitating fund draw downs for client communities to pay invoices
  • – Assist with audits/monitoring
  • – Monthly/quarterly/yearly reporting
  • – Invoicing client communities for services performed
  • – Review, authorize and track newspaper ad expenses.
  • – Preparation and management of agreements/contracts.
  • – Prepare and submit reports
  • – General clerical and support responsibilities including filing assistance as needed.

Required qualifications/skills:

  • – Associates degree in business administration, accounting, or related field
  • – Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable
  • – Strong attention to detail, multi-tasking and time management skills.
  • – Excellent communication skills
  • – High level of accuracy and efficiency
  • – Ability to work independently in a rapidly changing environment
  • – Proficiency with Microsoft Office products; strong emphasis on Excel & Access

Preferred qualifications/skills:

  • – Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
  • – Strong grammatical and proofing skills
  • – Ability to work independently in a rapidly changing environment

Salary range: $45,000-$60,000

Primary responsibilities of the candidate include:

  • – Commercial lending by working closely with commercial banks, businesses and various local, state, and federal funding sources, including the Small Business Administration 504 program.
  • – Development of targeted marketing strategies through vigorous networking and cold-calling
  • – Managing all new loan opportunities from application, analysis, approval, and funding.
  • – Building new and maintaining high standards for established relationships, while helping to grow the loan portfolio.

Preferred qualifications/skills:

  • – Commercial lending and marketing experience.
  • – Strong relationship building and customer service skills.
  • – Ability to analyze financial data to determine loan feasibility.
  • – Bachelor’s degree with emphasis on Business, Financial Management or Accounting; or a combination of 2-3 years of relevant work experience and education.
  • – Prior experience underwriting loans and the ability to analyze business financial statements is preferred.
