Request for Proposal: North Front Street and Susquehanna Avenue Traffic Signal Project

The City of Sunbury is requesting proposals for the purchase of professional Engineering services.  These services include all necessary design and specifications for the bidding of and contracting for the North Front Street and Susquehanna Avenue Traffic Signal Project. Job Opportunity: Principal Transportation Planner

Salary range: $50,000 – $60,000
Excellent benefits package including health, dental, vision, retirement, life insurance
and paid vacation & sick leave. Remote work flexibility available.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • – Preparing plans and programs, such as the Long-Range Transportation Plan, Transportation Improvement Program, Unified Planning Work Program, Public Participation Plan, Coordinated Transit Plan, and Title VI Program.
  • – Preparing scopes of work for transportation studies and plans.
  • – Analyzing transportation, demographic, economic, land use, and related data.
  • – Presenting to boards, committees, commissions, and at public meetings.
  • – Providing technical assistance and grant application support to local project sponsors.
  • – Responding to requests for information, data, and technical reports from state, federal, and
    local agencies.
  • – Preparing progress reports and adhering to regulations and guidelines required by funding
    sources.

Required qualifications/skills:

  • – Bachelor’s degree in Planning, Engineering, Geography, Public Administration, Public
    Policy, or a closely related field.
  • – Five to seven years of progressively responsible planning experience.
  • – Demonstrated knowledge of federal, state, and local transportation laws, funding sources, processes, policies, and regulations.
  • – Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • – Problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • – Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • – Microsoft Office programs.

Preferred qualifications/skills:

  • – AICP certification or PE license.
  • – ArcGIS.

Lewisburg Borough Seeks Proposals on Flood Mitigation Study

The Borough of Lewisburg is seeking proposals from firms that wish to provide consulting services to undertake a Borough-wide flood mitigation study to improve the Borough’s ability to withstand a flooding event, minimize damages, and recover rapidly. This project has been financed in part by a Strategic Management Planning Program Grant from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the Department of Community and Economic Development.

The Borough is working in cooperation with SEDA-Council of Governments (SEDA-COG) to solicit Professional Service Providers to undertake the study. The Request for Proposals (RFP) describes the project, the anticipated scope of services, the required consultant expertise and experience, and the information that must be included in the proposal. Failure to submit information in accordance with the RFP requirements and procedures may be cause for disqualification.

The Borough of Lewisburg will evaluate written proposals on the basis of thoroughness, completeness, content, experience, and capacity. The Borough and/or its Agent may conduct interviews with the top ranked proposers.
