Community Capacity Coordinator
2yr grant-funded position with the potential to extend

Primary responsibilities of the candidates include (but not limited to):

  • • Lead and assist communities in the development of plans for funding requests to improve their respective community’s quality of life.
  • • Coordinate and execute the preparation and development of state, federal, and/or other grant applications based on county’s needs.
  • • Coordinate potential project partners, funding, and other resources to develop project scopes and funding plans.
  • • Provide technical assistance including grant writing, planning/coordination, project development, program and project support, community coordination, funding strategy development, and meeting facilitation as they relate to potential funding proposals; Work with multiple programs at SEDA-COG to develop projects and grant applications.
  • • Assist with organizing and coordinating Regional Forums to help determine priority projects.
  • • Build an effective network of resourceful stakeholders and partners that will take ownership of ensuring community stability and prosperity.

Required qualifications/skills:

  • • Bachelor’s degree in public administration or a relevant field.
  • • 3-5 years of grant writing experience
  • • 3-5 years of local government or public funding administration experience
  • • Strong public speaking, presentation, and writing skills.
  • • Understanding of construction and public infrastructure process.
  • • Interpersonal communication and collaboration skills.
  • • Knowledge of state/federal government, agencies, and grants.
  • • Excellent time management skills.
  • • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Preferred qualifications/skills:

  • • Course work in government administration, and/or construction management
