JBI, Inc. is requesting proposals for the purchase of Professional Construction Phase Engineering Services: Resident Project Representative, for the development of approximately 29 acres of an expansion to the Juniata County Industrial Park. These services include full time representation during construction, assisting the Engineer in observing progress and quality of construction work, ensuring grant criteria compliance and ensuring timeliness.

The project is funded by RACP and EDA, and all regulations and criteria of such grants must be adhered to.

Energy Auditing Services

SEDA Council of Governments is requesting proposals (RFP) for Energy Auditing Services in the field of Weatherization throughout our State Weatherization coverage area. The purpose for the RFP is to acquire a qualified Energy Auditor to perform auditing duties out in the field. These duties will be more specified in a section listed below.

Proposals will be accepted until 2:00PM on December 9,2019 at which time they will be publicly opened at the offices of SEDA-COG.

Proposals shall also include the required information as described in Sections 1-6, sealed and clearly marked on the outside, “Weatherization Auditing Services Proposal” and submitted to: Erik Markley, SEDA-COG, 201 Furnace Rd Lewisburg Pa 17837.

Shamokin residents may receive no-cost home repairs

The City of Shamokin anticipates applying for a 2020 $500,000 housing rehabilitation grant next year, and city residents are encouraged to apply now to get on the waiting list to receive no-cost home repairs.

Homeowners within the city limits may be eligible to receive up to $65,000 in home improvements from the HOME Existing Owner-Occupied Housing Program.

Eligible repairs include structural, roofing, plumbing, electrical, heating/furnace, window replacement, radon and lead-based paint mitigation, and energy-related improvements. Also included are modifications for mobility-impaired residents. There is no cost to homeowners who maintain home residency over a five-year period from the date of signing.

Homeowners can go through the process hassle-free with SEDA-Council of Governments (SEDA-COG) managing it from start to finish, said Teri Provost, director of the agency’s Housing Rehabilitation program.

“We make the process easy for the homeowner and manage it from start to finish,” Provost said.

Qualifications:

  • Own the home or have Life Rights to live in it;
  • Meet income qualifications based on household size;
  • Be current on local taxes and municipal utility bills;
  • Provide proof of homeowner’s insurance;
  • Live in the home an additional five years.
