FINAL NOTICE

On or about July 31, 2020, Union County plans to submit an application to the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) for 2020 Community Development Block Grant Coronavirus Relief (CDBG-CV) funds in the amount of $296,378. Based on this amount, the County ($166,152), along with Lewisburg Borough ($65,516), and Kelly Township ($64,710), propose to allocate CDBG funds to the following activities:

UNION COUNTY

  1. 1. K-8 REMOTE LEARNING ASSISTANCE PROGRAM $ 97,552
  2. 2. UCHA HEALTHY HANDS HEALTHY HOMES PROGRAM $ 12,000
  3. 3. USCAA RENT/MORTGAGE/UTILITY/FOOD ASSISTANCE PROGRAM $ 40,000
  4. 4. ADMINISTRATION $ 16,600

TOTAL $ 166,152

LEWISBURG BOROUGH

  1. 1. LEWISBURG HAND WASHING/SANITIZING RESTROOM $ 59,116
  2. 2. ADMINISTRATION $ 6,400

KELLY TOWNSHIP

A Public Hearing to receive comments on the proposed use of the CDBG-CV funds will be held on June 26, 2020, at 2:00 PM. Keeping with federal and state guidelines regarding COVID 19, this meeting will take place as a virtual video web and tele conference. On July 31, 2020, Sunbury City Council intends to submit an application to the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) for Federal Fiscal Year (FFY) 2020 Community Development Block Grant Coronavirus Relief (CDBG-CV) funds. The amount of $193,732. Based on this amount, the Sunbury City Council proposes to allocate CDBG-CV funds to the following activities:

  1. 1. Sunbury mobile hand washing and sanitizing stations $10,000
  2. 2. Shikellamy remote learning access k-5 $36,600
  3. 3. Sunbury EMS/Fire/Police mask fitter and adapter $14,278
  4. 4. CSO rent/mortgage/utility/food relief program $73,554
  5. 5. Sunbury Business relief fund $40,000
  6. 6. Administration $19,300

TOTAL $193,732

The Union County Commissioners plan to submit an application to the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) for Federal Community Development Block Grant-Corona Virus (CDBG-CV) funds. For CDBG-CV 2020 funds, Union County has been allocated an estimated $166,152. The County will also include in its application CDBG-CV funds estimated at $64,710 on behalf of Kelly Township, and $65,516 on behalf of Lewisburg Borough. These funds are to be used in the prevention, preparedness or response to the COVID 19 Pandemic.

A Public Hearing for the County will be held on May 19, 2020, at 7:00 PM. Keeping with federal and state guidelines regarding COVID 19, this meeting will take place as a virtual video web and tele conference.
